You shouldn't have to add any classes or anything, the plugin takes care of that. Just install the plugin use the gallery shortcode (or just paste a link to an image file somewhere in the content) and plugin will take care of the rest.

After installing the plugin, you need to move the Lightview files into the plugin's directory. The plugin won't activate if certain Lightview files are missing (it does not check for every Lightview file, but checks for the main one). Your directory structure should look something like this:

z-lightview:
css
images
js
readme.txt
z-lightview.php

z-lightview/css:
lightview.css

z-lightview/images/lightview:
blank.gif
close_innertop.png
close_large.png
close_small.png
controller_close.png
controller_next.png
controller_prev.png
controller_slideshow_play.png
controller_slideshow.png
controller_slideshow_stop.png
controller_stop.png
inner_next.png
inner_prev.png
inner_slideshow_play.png
inner_slideshow_stop.png
loading.gif
next.png
overlay.png
prev.png
topclose.png

z-lightview/js:
effects.js
lightview.js
lv-scriptaculous.js
prototype.js

If you provide a link to your web site, it will help me troubleshoot with you. Let me know how you make out with these instructions.

Hi Dave,
I just installed your plugin and bought a license dor lightview.
I'm not a html or programming expert, and I miss a tutorial or something to explain how to use this.

I've already created a wordpress gallery using the shortcode [gallery] but the plugin doesn't work. I can't even use lightview adding the class to a single image.

¿Could you give me some tips or drive me to a good site that explains all this?

Thank you very much

Hi Robert,

The 404 error was resolved in the latest release. Do you have a specific URL I can visit where this is occurring? I visited the web site you provided in the comment but it appears you are using Lightview Plus and not my z-Lightview plugin on that site. If that's the site you're experiencing the errors on, you'll have to contact the developer of that plugin. Otherwise, let me know where I can go to see the error. Thanks!

From the looks of it, I am writing this message a year after the last one, so I am not sure if I will get a reply, but I will try anyways. I read near the top of this page that the 404 error code problem has been fixed, but actually for me, it hasn't. I am using the newest version of Lightview, and I can see 404 errors show up on my Wordpress log. Please let me know how I can fix this problem.

Thank you,

Robert

Yes, however, this plugin only automatically manages images at the moment. If you install and activate the plugin, it will load the necessary Lightview files on each page, which means you can create a link and have it open in an iframe. An example of how to structure that link would be as follows:

iFrame Sample

This would result in a link like: iFrame Sample.

More documentation is available on Nick's web site but if you have something specific in mind I can provide you with the code to get you started.

The plugin does not provide any additional control or options over what WordPress provides with respect to the gallery. It only adds the necessary code to use LightView when images are called (gallery, or otherwise).

Great. I'll look into creating an options page to let users toggle my plugin inserting that code.

Thanks for letting me know that it worked!

Thanks Dave... that seems to have fixed the problem - on Mac browsers anyway. I'll test IE later. Much appreciated...
